Starfire Systems has developed a Bulk Molding Compound (BMC) that contains carbon fiber, a vinyl substituted polysiloxane resin, and refractory particulate.  This Bulk Molding Compound can be infiltrated using our Polyramic® RD-688a polymer or other STARFIRE polysiloxane products.  The BMC is suitable for a variety of structural, thermal, and frictional uses and yields high-strength ceramics that are resistant to corrosion and wear, even at high temperatures.
