Starfire has recently developed an exciting new proprietary ceramic forming molding compound. This expandable range of products is based on a combination of Starfire Matrix Polymer with various common powder fillers, such as silicon carbide or diamond particulates. These new ceramic forming molding compound materials enable the manufacture of high purity, dense advanced ceramics within complex shapes, without size limits and at much lower temperatures than the current state of the art allows. Processing is simplified using ceramic forming molding compounds, reducing cycle times from weeks in many cases to just days. This new ceramic forming molding compound product technology promises to impact a broad range of applications including wear parts, semiconductor wafer equipment and diamond abrasives.
