Products - Diesel Particulate Filter Technology

Starfire Systems is currently developing a revolutionary Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. The filter technology will be amenable to stationary engines, off-road vehicles, large trucks, buses, trains, marine engines or passenger cars. Our patented technology employs Starfire's proprietary ceramic-forming polymer with temperature and corrosion-resistant fibers to create filters that can be designed into new engine platforms or function as an aftermarket retro fit.

Why Starfire?
Starfire Systems has a tradition of supplying advanced nanostructured ceramics to customers in a wide range of industrial applications. We work directly with our customers to design cost-effective solutions that meet their performance requirements. We are strongly committed to helping our clientele create efficient energy solutions that are environmentally friendly.

Numerous studies have shown that particulate matter emitted from diesel engines can have negative consequences on the environment and public health. Government agencies have chosen to limit possible applications for diesel engines and impose strict new emission criterion for future use. By the year 2007, diesel emissions standards will become much more stringent, severely limiting discharge tolerances of NOx and particulate matter from new engines. We recognize the efficiency and durability potential that diesel engines offer. Our goal is to promote a cleaner environment by enabling simple, cost-effective solutions for manufacturers of diesel engines to meet air quality standards and afford broader use of this efficient technology.

Look for Starfire's DPF technology to enable:

  • Consistent, reliable performance from the application of advanced silicon carbide ceramics
  • The capability of removing harmful particulate matter AND NOx
  • High particulate removal efficiencies
  • The option of passive or on- or off vehicle active regeneration
  • High burst strength and continued durability under high load operation
  • Filtration that is unaffected by low or high temperatures
  • OEM or after-market design and installation
