Fiber Interface Coatings:

Starfire® Systems has developed a family of low-cost fiber interface coatings that are easy to apply. The fiber interface coatings are designed to provide a weak interface between the matrix and fiber for increased toughness and damage tolerance in ceramic matrix composites.  Our polymers are compatible with a wide range of fibers to facilitate performance and design requirements. Examples are: silica, aluminosilicate, PAN-based carbon, pitch-based carbon, nicalon, tyranno and sylramic.

Tool Sealant / Mold release:

Variants of our coating technology have been proven to protect graphite from reactions with silicon. This suggests that these coatings can be used as a tool sealant for graphite mandrels.
