Turbine Rotors to introduce newly developed ceramic brake rotor at the 24th Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show.
November 28, 2011 – Schenectady, NY – Starfire Systems, Inc. (www.starfiresystems.com), a leader in Polymer-to-Ceramic™ technology, announced today the signing of a license and supply agreement with Thorn Tree Technology’s Turbine Rotors Division (www.turbinebrakerotors.com) for the development of a lightweight ceramic brake rotor.
Thorn Tree’s Turbine Rotors Division will introduce the newly developed ceramic brake rotor at the upcoming Performance Racing Industry Trade Show (PRI). The convention will be held at the Orlando Convention Center on December 1st – 3rd, where 40,000 members of the racing community and over 1,000 vendors will converge to view the latest advances in racing products, machining equipment, motorsport engineering and more. Turbine Rotors will be exhibiting its products at booth #2014.
“We are excited that Turbine Rotors will exhibit Carbon Ceramic brake rotors at the upcoming PRI convention,” stated David Devor, CEO of Starfire Systems, Inc. “As Starfire technology continues to implement our Polymer-to Ceramic™ technology for use in more commercially viable products, we are pleased that Turbine Rotors has decided to take advantage of this. We are confident that the technology will be well received by visitors at the PRI convention.”
The partnership with Starfire Systems has resulted insubstantial improvements to Thorn Tree’s Turbine Rotor Division’s patentedlightweight brake design technology. These advancements will allow Thorn Tree to offer a competitive price point on high-performance Carbon Ceramic rotors, which are used extensively in the performance and racing communities, but have historically been too costly for mass commercialization.
“We have been very impressed with the braking characteristics of the ceramic brake rotors developed using Starfire’s Polymer-to-Ceramic™ technology,” said Ralph Hansen, President of Thorn Tree Technology. “The performance and racing benefits of these rotors paired with the competitive price point put us in a prime position to appeal to a much broader market segment.”
The Turbine Rotors brand leverages patented segmented design and composite technologies that are extensively tested using SAE test protocols.
